Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner? Destination Scenic Rim has been preparing for the festive season and has plenty of country Christmas cheer to share with our city neighbours as we enter ‘the most wonderful time of the year’.
This Saturday, December 5, you can spend the whole day exploring the Scenic Rim, filling your stockings with local Christmas goodies and finding some delicious local produce for those special foodies in your life.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Tommerup’s Dairy Farm, with a special Christmas farm gate on Saturday, December 5 from 9am to 12:30pm. Snap up all of your Tommerup’s favourites with a limited edition Christmas twist, including Butter Whisky Double Cream (above) made with Tamborine Mountain Distillery butter whisky, Brandy Double Cream or their Sugar and Spice Cultured Salted Butter. Don’t forget their gourmet ice creams, for a delicious snack made for cooling down on an Aussie summer day. While you’re there, check out the pop-up Christmas store in The Barn, featuring local producers Coco and Myrtle, Moshki, Echoes of the Lost World Christmas Puddings, Pretty Produce and more for unique gifts your loved ones will adore. As always, the kids are able to feed the farm animals as you pick up your local goodies!
Your next stop is Ladybrook Farm/ Stay at Kirro, who have a treat for the little ones this December, with the Scenic Rim’s own Santa Bales and his reindeers taking up residence at the farm all month long! Why not get your Santa photos Scenic Rim style at this festive haybale installation for a unique family memory.
Sarabah Estate Vineyard is also kicking-off the silly season this Saturday with their Christmas Party. Meet local, family vineyard owners, Toni-Marie & Cameron Bishop from Sarabah and help them celebrate their latest release – Sarabah Estate Vineyard Sparkling Shiraz. Join the fun with live music, canapés and an exclusive tasting this Saturday from 2pm – 5pm! Tickets are essential and are on sale here for $25 per person.
Finish the day at Towri Sheep Cheeses, where they’re hosting a ‘stocking filler’ event on Saturday evening from 5:30pm – 9pm on their picturesque sheep property. Guests will be able to look through a range of ‘ewenique’ gift ideas, while tasting local produce including their delicious cheeses, like the popilar ‘eweghurt’ above and Running Creek Beef‘s hot pies. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a country sunset in the Scenic Rim while you shop local! Towri do ask that you please RSVP here.
What a way to welcome to festive season and there’ll be more Christmas cheer in the Scenic Rim throughout December. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay while you’re in our beautiful region, you can get some ideas here! We look forward to seeing you soon.
