After lots of rain in the region, the Scenic Rim is looking lush and green (like this view, above, from Ketchups Bank Glamping) and we’re very excited for you to visit! This January you can shop local, spend a day on the farm and stay for a while to embrace summer in the Scenic Rim. January is jam-packed with the following on offer:
January 16
The Tommerups will open the gates to their sixth-generation family farm on Saturday, January 16 for a picnic on the farm. Their farm is lush from the recent rain and there’ll be animal feeding, plenty of room to enjoy a picnic and lots of goodies available from the larder and the Hut Café. Tickets are essential and you can book here.
Every Sunday
Fancy Sunday brekkie? Sarabah Estate Vineyard is open every Sunday morning with a delicious range of classic breakfast meals, including Smashed Avo on Sourdough, House Made Pancakes and Eggs Benny, alongside barista made coffee. Children and pets are always welcome, and bookings can be made here.
Australia Day long weekend
January 23 – January 26, 10am – 5pm
Scenic Rim Brewery is open all weekend for your brewery fix! Join in for a family-friendly weekend of festivities including a special gourmet hotdog menu, beer tasting paddles, loaded milkshakes for the kids and more. Reservations are limited so make sure you book ahead!
January 24 – January 26, 10am – 3pm
Running Creek Beef will welcome guests to visit their beautiful property from Sunday, January 24 to Tuesday, January 26, 10am to 3pm, for a bit of Australia Day fun. There’ll be a range of stallholders offering local produce, as well as lots of delicious Running Creek Beef products. Celebrate classic Aussie fare with Running Creek Beef’s famous hot pies, the perfect fuel while shopping around the farm for fresh produce. More info here.
January 24, 11am – 5pm
Sarabah Estate Vineyard is welcoming guests for Australia Day festivities a little early on January 24. There will be Aussie classics playing all day from 11am and the afternoon will kick off with thong throwing at 2pm! Their menu will include homemade Pavlova, an Aussie Angus burger and Byron Bay Pork Belly. All the usual fun will still be had, including meeting the alpacas, touring the vines and wine tasting.
January 26 – all day
Head on down to The Bearded Dragon for a fun filled Australia Day on January 26. Catch-up with your mates over a few cold beers and pub classics while you watch the quintessentially Queensland cane toad races, take part in the Australia Day raffles and listen to live music.
