“Milford Country Cottages are a true country escape” – Lyn and John McLean
Milford Country Cottages are nestled in the heart of the Scenic Rim on a 40 acre property just close enough to Boonah to experience the vibrant country town, but secluded enough to properly unwind.
Owners Lyn and John McLean, who originally met in Bundaberg, were drawn to the Scenic Rim as it reminded them of Childers. They’ve been visiting the area for more than 16 years, but decided to call the Scenic Rim home six years ago when they established Milford Country Cottages.
“Milford Country Cottages was created from scrub country, so everything you see on our property was created by us,” says Lyn and John.
One thing that often grabs the attention of visitors, apart from the charming cottages, cute farm animals and friendly hosts, is the spectacular view.
Milford Country Cottages looks out to nearby rolling hills and promises visitors spectacular Scenic Rim sunsets.
Guests are able to stay in either of the idyllic self-contained country cottages – Bottletree Cottage and Rose Cottage, giving visitors a taste of real rural life. The property is also home to a range of farm animals and historical horse drawn implements like their vintage horse cart.
“You can feed the cows, chickens and horse. Build your own camp fire or you can cook your own delicious camp oven while watching the sun go down. With lots of local working farms in the area, there’s plenty of great produce to choose from and enjoy.”
Lyn and John say that Milford Country Cottages have become a haven for visitors from all walks of life.
“The cottages have hosted everyone from wedding groups, avid bush walkers, families on farm stays, groups visiting the CMC Rocks festival, Ivory Rocks Competition and writers’ festivals, government conferences, photographers – you name it!”
