Let’s get stuck into this blog! What makes the Scenic Rim great and why I just bloody love it!
A born and raised Beaudesert girl, I have seen the Scenic Rim go from strength to strength, develop in areas of growth, innovation, agri tourism, sustainability awareness and community passion.
2005 was the year my mum Carolyn decided to make sheep cheese and open our farm to guests. What a rollercoaster of achievements, loss, challenges, falls…you name it I feel our farm and business has had to face it at some point. We have learnt to pick ourselves up every time and reflect on what went wrong and how to prevent or prepare better next time!
The most beautiful part about this region is by far the people! Yes we have stunning views, fresh produce, amazing artists, jaw dropping national parks, unique accommodation, mouth watering wine and talented foodies! BUT what’s all that without the passionate people who make that all happen!
Name another region that has four types of dairy’s? We have Sheep, Camels (Summerland Camels), Goats (Naughty Little Kids) and Cows! (Tommerups and 4 Real just to name two). Name another region where you can go from walking in a rainforest on Tamborine Mountain to the country charm of Kalbar and shop for fresh produce at the Scenic Rim Fruit and Veg shop! I may be biased…but can you name another region that celebrates local food producers more than The Scenic Rim… I can’t, not to mention our local chefs, cooks and food lovers who turn that fresh produce into works of art!
Thank you to all of you, for making this region simply epic! For getting up every morning and sharing your passion in what you do! For helping cross promote other businesses and working together to spread the love of The Scenic Rim. As a region we have nailed collaboration down to a tee and we’re stronger for it!
