With so many stops on the Farm Gate Trail, we don’t expect you to get to all of them in one day so we’ve organised some itineraries to help you get to some of your favourites while enjoying a day in the Scenic Rim. Follow our suggestions below or choose your own adventure from our Farm Gate Trail Map.
Itinerary A – Harrisville, Kalbar, Mount Alford & Running Creek
If you’re coming from Brisbane, start your morning at Coco & Myrtle purchasing natural soaps made with produce from the region before heading to Scenic Rim Brewery for a local brew and some Dutch delicacies and then hitting the road for the Farm Gate at Running Creek Beef. *Please note the drive from Scenic Rim Brewery to Running Creek Beef is approximately 45 minutes

It’s weaning time on the farm and the perfect opportunity to hand-feed our youngsters. Feed will be available for a small fee. Running Creek Cottage, the original 100+year old farmhouse, will be open for display, perfect if you are looking for your next holiday spot. Whilst there you can also wander down to our beautiful creek. NB: Farm Waivers must be completed to participate in the cattle feeding and Running Creek Cottage Open House. Its first in Best Beefed! Our grass-fed beef is cryovacked and ready for purchase at the Tractor Shed Porch and Farm Pantry. Come early to avoid missing out on your favorite cut. Farmer Rod’s and friends Restored Cars and Hot Rod’s will be on display, and as usual, there will be lots of delicious food including Running Creek Beef Hot Pies, Pasties & Sausage Rolls plus various stalls including Arthur Clive’s Bakery’s Hot Cross Buns and Baked Goods. Itinerary B – Kalbar, Boonah & Oaky Creek
Enjoy the Scenic Rim Farm Shop where you’ll get to purchase a range of delicious local produce and enjoy the region’s best carrot cake before heading to Olive View Estate to see a working olive farm and then stop in at Oaky Creek Farm & Harvest Cafe to take in the stunning views of Innisplain while enjoying a bit of afternoon tea.

Itinerary E – Harrisville, Allenview, Kerry
Head off on a family road trip and visit the animals of the Scenic Rim! If you’re coming from Brisbane, Start at Summer Land Camels to meet local camels and experience the camel farm, before heading to Towri Sheep Cheeses to meet the cutest lambs and grab a coffee and then go to Tommerup’s Dairy Farm to enjoy an afternoon on the farm, listen to live music and grab a delicious ice cream. Then go to Mountview Alpacas for an Alpaca selfie before heading home. If you’re coming from the Gold Coast, follow Itinerary E in reverse. *Please note Itinerary E requires at least 30 minutes driving time between each stop.

Itinerary F. Wyaralong, Allenview & Jimboomba
Looking to master the perfect cheese board, with local wine? These stops are for you! Stop by The Overflow Estate 1895 to find the right wine to go with your delicious cheese, then head to Towri Sheep Cheeses for all your ewenique sheep cheese essentials. Itinerary H. Canungra & Sarabah
Start at Sarabah Estate Vineyard to explore the grounds and grab a bite to eat and taste some local drops before heading over to O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyard for a picnic with a glass of wine (if you’re still hungry!), and your chance to say hello to the alpacas at Mount View Alpacas before finishing the day learning not only how finger limes are grown, but also how beneficial they are nutritionally!
